I think it is so fascinating how in the video “He died four times” which you mention in this video and mention it as your most interesting guest, you ask him about the craziest thing he’s seen at Balboa Park and he tells you he got married there and you tell him you’ve never witnessed anybody get married there and in this video you actually get to witness a couple getting married as your filming the podcast.. idk, it was just interesting to me and quite fascinating..

I understand his view on the traditional 9 to 5. Monotonous repetitiveness can be soul crushing. He is brave for making the change.

I’m a 62 year old grandma and I really got a lot out of this. But…. At least tell your family you are ok. Ambiguous Loss destroys a mind.

I’m glad I came to the video cause just hearing the first couple minutes of the conversation on the audio podcast I was really misunderstanding him. But watching it too, gives me a fuller picture

@Hey, Stranger! Thoraya I just recently found your channel and I've been binge watching everything I can because I found I really enjoy myself by living vicariously through what you're doing. This is my favorite podcast interview so far, along with the man who died four times (episode 8). I drove a taxi for 12 yrs on the nightshift and so meeting strangers was a job requirement but I thoroughly enjoyed it and would have done it for free if I didn't have to pay bills. I destroyed my lower back driving, it gave me permanent nerve damage or I'd probably still be driving and I miss it so much. I feel like the concept for your channel is so similar to how I interacted with people in my cab, drawing on a conversation from point a to point b was a way to pass the time but also a way to earn trust and gain some permanent customers who became my base income, people I could count on every day. I detached from my family and my material possessions and was driven mostly by spiritual purpose in my cab and did a ton of bartering for rides, I had accounts that i volunteered my services as a way to give back to my community and i grew closer to God through driving a cab than I ever could have by going to any church and learned true empathy and compassion by meeting the people I met every day. I'm disabled now and have no income but I still manage to survive and God always provides ways to meet my needs. I hope you see this comment because I just wanted to say thank you for doing what you do - this is the best channel I've watched on YouTube or anything else online for that matter. I don't own a tv or seek out things to do or watch online, I just let things happen organically so I don't believe it's a coincidence that I found this wonderful new source of joy in my life. I love learning about people and the human experience but I ultimately enjoy loving one another above anything else in life. (Love wins!) Thank you for sharing & facilitating so much love!

I also wrote on the original. How would he react if his saw his mother passing by while he was sitting there? Would he ignore her or would he hug her?

On stranger number one I I could relate, sometimes you’re just a slave to everything, even people complaining there’s times you just feel like OK that’s it. I’m done..

I wrote a comment on the original airing of this video. I don’t remember what I wrote, but I still think he’s wonderful. And quite wise.

"I don't have room in my brain" I say this to my husband all the time when he is trying to explain things to me that I don't really understand or care about. So I love that you said that because not everybody says that out loud!

Hey Thoraya, i just wanted to let you know i often find my self coming back to this episode and EP. 8 where the guy died 4 times. These podcasts are sooooo moving to me, especially this one. I love this guys view on life with materialism, sexuality, and overall spiritual consciousness. I hope to see more videos on this page soon whenever you're ready! Much love all the way from Virginia!

So I find this really odd, like spooky odd, and I don't know if you will have realised, but...I watched this, then started to watch epiosde #8, the one called A Man Who Died Four Times that you mention in this episode as being the episode you found the most interesting. The beginning of that one he says he got married in the park, you replied that you'd seen lots of things in the park but hadn't ever seen someone get married there. And in this episode you see someone get married. I find that super weird.

I see this guy at the park every so often. He’s doing well! He just got back from a bike ride up to Northern California and I saw him last weekend :) Last time I saw him was about a year ago, so he’s living his best life. If anyone goes to Balboa Park in San Diego often enough, you might see him too :)

If you are gonna be homeless, its better to be homeless in sunny San Diego than being homeless in the frigid wasteland that is Minnesuuuuuta in winter
