Fun fact: the Paladin walking away in a straight line and over the boulder, as well as the other characters' reactions, are all improvised. The director decided not to say cut just to see what would happen and how they'd handle it, and Regé-Jean Page just kept on walking and straight over the rock like he's a video game NPC because he thought that's what Xenk would do in character.

24:00 In case nobody else said it, this whole sequence is a prime example of "DM comes up with cool, elaborate puzzle(complete with NPC giving the explanation on how it works), Players immediately fuck it up, DM has to come up with some bullshit off the top of their head to get the Players where they need to go"

Fun facts: Michelle used to play D&D when she was younger, so this must have been really fun for her.
Vin Diesel has been playing D&D since he was a kid. He still plays and mostly a Game Master now. Michelle has said he's a bigger nerd for the game than she is just from the amount of D&D game books he owns.

The pudgy dragon, the failed illusion and "Oh, Jarnathan!" actually made me burst out laughing, which is extremely rare for a movie to do.
It is a shame this probably won't get a sequel, this is prime cinematic universe material, which I know studio execs love to hear. A sequel could have an entirely new cast made of different class characters than this one and then in the third movie both squads team up against Tam. That's a solid trilogy imo. There's literally no end to possible movie ideas with this property, just keep making new campaigns!

Fun fact: 42:15 is the same spell as “Scanlan’s hand.” The original spell is called “Bigby’s Hand,” but Legend of Vox Machina changed it to “Scanlan’s Hand” for copy right issues

This really is what it feels like to play D&D, also the whole asking corpses questions scene, exactly how it would go when playing. You give a group of players a limit on something be it number of questions you can ask, or a word limit on a sending spell (long distance communication) it's like they immediately lost all ability to process thoughts.
