I watched the movie and enjoyed the acting and the story. I was lucky in life and found my "Charlie" who became like a second son to my parents and I a 4th son to his parents. That was more than 50 years ago and while we lost our parents and most of our siblings, we are still together. We are still in love after all this time. I wish everyone, straight or gay could have a soulmate that loves them forever.

It really sucks that such a film as this isn't within the mainstream considering all the garbage movies that we are subjected to. This film deserves much more exposure, not because it's a "gay" film - but because it's a great film. Thank you for your work and dedication to the art of film making despite not being recognized as you should be by our industry. I will be reaching out to you soon...

This movie was truly a work of art. I wish I had this when I was younger, I dealt with a similar situation back when my father was alive. My mother didn't interfere that much but I feel like she knew the truth and my father never wanted to admit it. I really resonate with James and I'm ecstatic that the kids of this generation have pieces of media like this in their lives; which I never had. It's really important. Thank you for making this film for the sake of everyone.

Films of this sort are usually very low budget, with very poor acting and storyline. This one ,however, is absolutely great in all those departments! Such a beautiful, warm, heart touching story, very good actors who play so genuinely and convincingly, a fine soundtrack.Beautiful! Thank you for uploading this wonderful movie!

This movie is a "silent" movie. No shouting... No slapping of face. But in its silence, you can clearly hear the emotional struggle and the pain of making a decision.
In the end, love survives. The father's acceptance of his son's decision searching for his true love and freedom clearly manifests how strongly love his son.
The movie's silence echoes loudy deep inside my heart... I have mine too for 17 years.

Michael Grant is absolutely perfect as James: heartbreakingly sad, honestly and intellectually questioning, so torn among his many responsibilities, buoyantly happy as things begin to resolve. Josh Green was great but needed a bigger part, and Tom Wopat did a great job depicting a dad who wasnât really sure how to love his son until the end when he said for the 3rd or 4th time âyour mother would be proud of youâ and finally added âI am, too.â I wish we could have seen how their lives and relationships progressâŚ

What I most appreciate here, was that its pacing, its tempo, its characters and its atmosphere mirrored the rural setting. There were no excesses here, no melodrama added, just to spice things up. The movie takes its time and delivers just what it really wants to deliver with no added cargo. Its superbly done.

1:15:40 This scene owns my heart. Richard looks at James's photo with Charlie first then subsequently the one with his mom. He examined how his son looked like with the people he was in the picture with and he realized one thing, he looks the same. He wears the same smile as if he was taking a photo with the same person. He was happy. When he came with that realization he knew what he had to do, accept him and let him be his own person. It's the subtlety that gives more to me.
Thank you for uploading this gem, I'm so glad I found it. I needed a cry and this did me good. â¤ď¸

This was so beautifully done. I cried toward the end...just seeing it end so happily. I wish I could have had an ending like this. Over the decades the family and I have slowly slipped away. Still the upside is my sister and I are still close. I have no regrets. I have learned to move forward and learned to love openly

I felt that the boy was struggling so much so that I felt I am suffocating. Cannot imagine what he must have went through. Hope no one has to go through it.
Really loved how he just accepted himself and let Charli into his life.
The movie is what young teens fantasise about, atleast the second half of it. Loved it. It will stay with me forever now.

"The farm isn't family, we are." What a beautiful line.
