My son had dreads for 8 years, they were down to his waist. He couldn't rest well at night anymore and would wake up with a knot in his neck. I told him to stop dreading the new growth, otherwise I'd have to almost shave his head. 3 months later we cut them off , he felt so much better he said he felt like he was floating. The dreads weighed 8.3 lbs. Great video Brad, love ya đ

Depends on your hair tripe for kinky curly hair conditioner really does help since our hair is naturally more dry and removing it dry it more likely to break it than doing it wet. Plus the conditioner helps loosen up the hair and actually avoids breakage and thatâs why it was easier for her to removing the hair

That first transformation was INSANE! I did not expect her hair to look like that afterwards! Kudos to anyone doing this. I would've just shaved my head and grow it out from scratch.
Edit: sorry, I just had to comment on the last girl's hair. That is GORGEOUS!!
I actually had a classmate in college do that. He was a drummer and had chest-length dreads. One day he just came to school and he had chopped it all off! Def looked a lot healthier. We were all in shock haha.

As a black girl, my hair breaks easier when theres no form of moisture. What the last girl did was pretty smart, as always different race different hair, different do's and don't for certain things
Edit: some of yall really trying to be smart. No two races have the same hair texture, not even those apart of the same race has the same texture. So yes for the major part race affects how your hair grows, the texture, and the practices you apply to taking care of it, whether it be tradition, culture, or something you learn from wherever else.

OMG! I've watched Christina for years! She has several channels but i mainly watch her true crime channel! She had a very rough & tragic childhood, speant years in prison & completely turned her life around! As a former addict myself with 9 years clean, she is an inspiration & one of the most real, down to earth people on YouTube! She's awesome!

I will say that adding water and conditioner is more recommended for black and textured hair. Even finer 3b types will benefit from the slip of the conditioner. the issue of elasticity from water causing snapping may still be a consideration for chemically treated black hair but typically, coarser hair and the tighter curl patterns will break more from going in dry and pulling without any slip to loosen the curls from being joined together so tightly.

As a black woman who has had her locs since 2019, I would just cut my hair all off and grow it back. The cosmetologist and certified natural hair specialist in me is screaming make a detangling mix! Water will shrink the hair back if you detangle with it alone. I have removed several of my clients locs in hours, not DAYS, HOURS with a mix that is mostly oil based. It is required to give slip to the hair and aid in detangling.
