There's something I love about Talib Kweli: you will find him around realness, talking realness and acting real. He's Hip Hop royalty.

I had the privilege and blessing to meet Caz while he was here in Hawaii for, what I think was, the DMC world championship. A really cool and real great person πŸ™ He sat and talked to me about his perspective on the state of Hip Hop and blessed me even further with signing my copy of the original Wild Style soundtrack on wax! I will always be thankful that he is the person that he is! One of my all time amazing moments of my Hip Hop memories πŸ™πŸ€™

People forget about hip hop man. This is raw love watching this these dudes are hyped. Yeah people forget that is apart of the history that grandmaster caz truly is a legend and it should be printed in stone. His lyrics were stolen from interviews my knowledge is that it was grandmaster caz freestyling at a party and that got recorded onto a tape or somehow got heard from big bank hank where he stole those lyrics and turned it into the first mainstream hip hop song. Still more needs to be known from an unbiased perspective but this is multiple accounts there would be no hip hop as we know it today if it wasn't for this moment. Grandmaster Caz put one of the building blocks in place for hip hop to stand and grow his contribution will forever be apart of the foundation of hip hop truly one of the greats that deserves mad respect he helped turn hip hop which was just an idea people DJing and freestyling in the park and at house parties into something great and that was years of dedication he had to the art till this day. Grandmaster Caz cannot be commended enough he is one of the greats. That recent song players is a bastardisation of all dudes like you guys have worked for. Without grandmaster caz there would be no sugar hill rappers delight and so on with the progression of hip hop. Those were all links in the chain what you guys the founding fathers of hip hop did what a chain too it wont ever be broken. I read Rakims book he is almost the father of hip hop today modern day boom bap he was influenced heavily from that song the message and that era like i was from seeing and hearing that music. That branch of hip hop the message to rakim lead to the birth of what today is underground aussie hip hop the expression that song and rakim added to the artform gave the pieces and foundation to that sort of expression in the artform .

"Hip Hop" is an NYC phenomenon for them to be confused about and argue about for the next 100 yearsπŸ˜‚ It's good that he is distinguishing between rap music and "hip hop", since they keep adding folklore to it. Hip Hop did not lay the foundations of rap music....that already existed... I'm just glad he didnt say Crazy Legs and Ice SpiceπŸ˜‚
