I'm on a rough patch right now, stuck inside a mental hospital. This soothes me and feels relaxing. Thank you. And to anyone else suffering right now - take care of yourself, spend time reflecting and dont beat yourself up too much. Life goes on, things will change for the better.
Edit: thank you all for your support and kind words! I hope you're all doing good. ^^

This is really excellent. The arrangement is really cool and Maiah's singing is perfect. I can't wait to hear more. It doesn't "sound" like Alex Lifeson playing, which shows that he's willing to do new things, and that's great to see. This song has a lot of subtle stuff going on and doesn't hit you like a ton of bricks, but sneaks up on you before displaying its strength.

Lifelong diehard Rush fan here. This is a beautiful and compelling song. It draws the listener in. Lush, dense, trippy.. The sweet feminine vocal provides the perfect contrast, and is the icing on the cake. Is anyone else pondering a hidden significance to the blue pill, and not the red? We love you Lerxst. Thanks.

Thank you so much for sharing this! Despite being a Rush fan for 35 years now, I was ignorant of Alex and Envy of None until a few weeks ago when reading some magazine article. I have been playing this track often recently. As my 81 year old mother died yesterday, for me Western Sunset will always be connected with her. 💙

This brings to mind the indie, dream pop of the late 80's/ early 90's, notably The Cocteau Twins, and maybe Lush, Curve et al. Which is fine by me. I loved that music back in the day, and I'm a lifelong Rush fan too. Some Rush nuts may be disappointed that Lifeson didn't release a heavy rock or prog album, but I applaud him for doing something completely different. I'll be buying this album very soon.

Long time Rush fan here. And I completely dig this. This is absolutely nothing what I expected to hear from Alex Lifeson and at the same time I completely did not expect him to come out with anything that sounded like Rush. And that’s one of the many things I love about Alex Lifeson. I’m so happy that he’s a part of this.

Also a long-time Rush fan here, and proud of Alex. He's joined a great band here, and I love this song! Also, good of him to not be in the video. As a rock legend, there would be a temptation to roll him out into this video to "show him off" but they smartly resisted this. Neither the video nor the music displays overtly the Rush legend, and that's great. This is a new band, and they deserve their own identity.

Alex Lifeson. I don't know that there's more to say. I don't want to take anything away from the other artists in this band. This is awesome music. So thankful to have stumbled upon it just now from looking at Alex's wiki page. I will say I've been a monster Rush fan for over 41 years, and saw my first Rush concert, Moving Pictures, nearly 43 years ago. My brain had to percolate (read: mature) for about a year to understand what those three would come to mean to me for the rest of my life.

Alex Lifeson is an artist first. He is unlike any other big time musician out there. The difference is that he plays his guitar to fit the music, not his ego. He is a trailblazer and I’ve loved everything he’s done. I’ve followed Rush since I was 11 years old. I’m well into my 50’s. Maih lives here in the northwest and is a perfect fit for this project.
