I know a lot of people don't like this song but coming from someone who suffered from depression, the lyrics make a lot of sense - trying anything or doing anything to feel something, because many depressed people feel numb more than they feel sad. Wow...I have no idea how to explain it. But the nostalgia. The melancholic, anxious, euphoric, optimistic time in my late teens and early 20s that this reminds me of. Like, that vague sense of precarity but believing that everything will somehow work out eventually. Like, I'm becoming aware of myself in ways I've never really thought about before. Coming to terms with my sexuality. Learning to be okay with myself (this project is still ongoing).
