idk how it took me until now to realize this, but the fact that poo's hp hits zero and you hear the death noise when his legs are cut off means that noise you hear when your party members die is them hitting the ground

When Poo was introduced, his master told him his final test was a test of Emptyness. And as you see here, you basically are left to be nothing, an empty shell.

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but "Mu" is a word in some languages that means something along the lines of "void" or "nothingness".
And in some cultures, particularly some that may use shaman or medicine men/women, it is thought that the person must die and be broken to be reborn to serve the will of the gods and to act as an intermediate between the humanity and the divine.
There could also be some correlation between Mu and Zen Buddhism, but I may be looking far too deep into this. :)

I think Poo's meditation is him coming to terms with death. Once our senses are stripped away, there's only nothingness, and there's nothing we can do to avoid this fate. By accepting the incremental divestment of his senses, he's essentially accepting death. And once he accepts death, his training is complete. It's very Buddhist.
