If you did, make sure to smash that like button and stream the song on Spotify <3 7clouds.fanlink.to/BetterBroken 'Better Broken' is a song about feeling tired of hurting somebody, and coming to the conclusion that you’re better off alone and “broken” so you can stop causing the people you love pain. When I wrote 'Better Broken', I was a little bit sick of always hearing breakup songs where the writer’s POV was as a victim, blaming everything on the other person. I thought it was much more interesting, and honest, to write from the perspective of the guilty party in the relationship. It’s a somewhat dramatic concept to say you’re better off broken, but when you’re going through that situation and it seems like everything you do just leads to more suffering for those around you, it's a very genuine feeling. When I had a demo of the song, I showed it to someone very close to me, and they said they really related to it because they’d decided that there was no hope for their love life after so much disappointment and heartache. Their comment made me realize it was almost irresponsible to write such a depressing song, so I changed the last chorus to have a more hopeful message: That the feelings the song discusses, are always fleeting, and that eventually you’ll pick up the pieces, and be just fine.
