A short video showing the wrapping process of a Zero doll. A layer of silicone was laid down beneath each strand of wool. Why silicone and not glue? Because the bodies were made of silicone... and the only thing that sticks to silicone is silicone. For a full tutorial, visit this page: www.zeroshortfilm.com/behind-the-scenes/fabricatio…

If Zero was made into a movie, with the same way the video was made, imagine how many years that would take to finish the whole movie. Zero was about 13 minutes long, took about 2 years to finish. A decent movie is 90 minutes long. About 7 times more. So... about 14 to 15 years to finish the whole thing. Wow. That surely would be a super long time to finish. xD talk about time o:

No, you're right. I was just confused by the mention of 3D. It was a simply matter of duplicating the foreground layer and offsetting it in the back a few times. But it's not because we didn't have enough dolls, it was just to save us having to animate that many people :)

They were either Roma clay sculpts or silicone moulds (sorry I can't remember) wrapped using the same technique as the video above.

Oh right, yes there's one scene where we add a few more layers of people to thicken the crowd. It's in the scene where the mob gathers outside the prison when she-zero turns up pregnant. But it's not because we didn't have enough dolls, it was just to save us having to animate that many people :)

Yeah, we had around 27 dolls to wrap. What do you mean by "every one that wasn't added in 3D afterwards"?

The actual wool was already multi-colored.
