No label would get behind a band like this and support them today. I'm amazed it happened then, but the record business was all about what was good, and dangerous just meant more sales in their minds.
I'd forgotten how great this video was. Perfect editing and concept. Chuck D is a massive talent as were the Bomb Squad. They cracked a code of sampling no one has ever matched. I'm glad Chuck stayed with us. I really did not expect him to be allowed to live, but the powers that be at MTV submarined their career pretty good in the early 90s. PE basically had to turn into their own outfit to release more music, much of which is also great.
If America was free on any real level, Chuck D would have the platform Snoop does, but the powers that be don't want Chuck to get any airtime. They don't want young people finding this music.
PE and NWA were a one two punch of reality in the late 90s, and a lot of white kids ate it up like potato chips, to whatever outcome.
