I added grain to this video intentionally but YouTube sucks the life out with the compression so it just looks like noise 😆 Make sure to set your playback to 4K for best results before watching this!

The person in the room suggestion is something I use all the time. Also very true that you start picking your film apart when they are watching. Happens all the time with my wife!

It's refreshing to hear that you still find yourself periodically shooting spec work. This one may have mostly been for the purposes of this YouTube video, but even still, it's refreshing.

I am a member of AOD and I can’t recommend the course enough. I’m a full time photographer who wants to do some video/ doc work for me as a creative release and to look at introducing it into my work portfolio. By sharing ideas such as this is so inspirational. It came be so hard when my photography business is so busy but watching this makes me need to make time to learn and create. Thank you!!

I love the concept of watching the edit on different screens. I end up doing this a lot with YouTube videos on editing station and then iPhone. The only problem is that I often have to re upload if I don't like a specific thing!

I love this setup and the power of the story with just that one lens. Amazing.

I'm a current AOD member and I just want to put in a plug for how much it has helped me. My main goal in life is to enter a doc festival with a feature length doc. I am currently working on one now. Not only is the course very helpful and amazing, but the meet ups are also a big help. I was fortunate enough to be at a recent meetup with Mark and Michael and they are both really great guys. You can tell they care about the people in AOD and genuinely want you to succeed. It takes hard work to shoot a documentary and it can take years. But they are supportive and don't BS it saying it's easy. I really appreciate their honesty and commitment to AOD.

I can vouch for this as a strategy. I made a spec video at one of my local metroparks and then approached the Metropark system to see if they wanted to buy it and not only did they say yes, they also asked me to make another video for them as well.
