My beautiful mum Maisie Bosquette, Strokestown, County Roscommon, Ireland, passed away 22nd January 2023 in her 90th Year and this was one of her favourites. We played it as she left the Church on the journey to her final resting place. She loved Shane so much. This one is for you mum. I'm so proud of you and all you achieved. Rest peacefully to the greatest mum I could ever dream to have had. 💔 R.I P 🙏🏼

My husband and I had pretty opposite musical taste, but we both loved The Pogues. He picked this song for our first dance at our wedding. ❤ Tragically, a little less than three years after getting married, my husband passed away suddenly and unexpectedly when he was just 44. So I played this song at our honoring ceremony for him too. 💔 He always was and always will be the measure of my dreams…..

I am now a 50 yrs old and I remember when I was 18 yrs. My father went for a business trip and he left me his credit card. I felt guilty then, because I went to a CD shop and I bought all Pogues albums. Still have have them. Thanks dad, and thanks to Shane for a long lasting memory and best music in my life.

Irish DNA to the core, talent most can only dream of, poetry running through your veins. Look what you have left us, we are truly blessed. Thank you Shane McGowan and the Pogues. Condolences to Victoria, your family, The Pogues and anyone touched by your talent and presence. Forever missed 🇮🇪☘️
