What blows my mind is, without any context at all, other than the obvious that it’s Goldburg and Brock, you still feel the gravity of it. But this ten minutes is nothing less of operatic.
Storytelling of the highest order.
Plus, it was one of the few time I saw WWE faithfully push and translate the feel and vibe of the Aura that was WCW Circa Goldberg 97-98.
It’s pure retro in this strange way I never thought I would enjoy seeing goldburg in.
It makes Brock look like a team player
(It always does whenever he looses becuase he still has that Brock Aura too)
And it makes Goldburg in one match look like he’s back after 20 years as peak goldburg.
It’s pure showmanship and story telling at wrestling’s finest.

Storytelling at it's finest. The best thing about wrestling is it's continuous so has a long and storied history. That gives it a phenomenal storytelling tool to use. Younger fans at the time had forgotten how formidable Goldberg was in his prime. To have the old warrior come back for one last overconfident beast to slay, that's a classic story that's been told since humans gathered round campfires. Amazing.
