Your family will be joining you in the morning, but for now you have the silent night to yourself. A feeling of pleasant solitude fills you as you breathe in the rich scent of pine, mingled with peppermint and freshly baked desserts.
The presents are in place and the stockings are filled. Everything is just where it should be. You relax into a leather-backed chair and observe the lights dancing off the fireplace just below the wreath. Content and comfortable, you smile to yourself and close your eyes, enjoying the pleasant Christmas ambience.
