The find a tumor line is actually something that happened- It was an interview with a guy on that house flipping show, and a lady saw it, contacted the studio, and had a message passed to him that he should get his thyroid checked out, because it looked swollen on camera. Turned out he had cancer and she likely saved his life.

Bo Burnham is probably one of the most intelligent and self aware comedians out there. His perspective is twisted so far around by mental health issues that it ends up coming back on him. I don't think you could ask for a better writer when it comes to tricking people into laughing at very real shit.

17:19 itâs kinda ironic that as soon as Bo âswitches the internet back onâ (being the speedy music with a lot happening) Knoxâs immediate response is to get a rush and feel entertained
thereâs something very symbolic about it

God's perspective, can't handle this, we think we know you, art is dead, all eyes on me, that funny feeling, rant, how the world works, white woman's Instagram, left brain right brain, comedy, repeat stuff are some of my favourite songs by him. So glad you're reacting to Bo. Honestly, he's a genius.

I think the line "And it did all the things we designed it to do" is probably the most poignant and underrated line in the whole song... people tend to blame the internet and social media for all sorts of problems in society, but forget that it was HUMANS who created the internet...all the internet is doing is giving us a place to concentrate and magnify the issues that have already been in our society

This song is aimed squarely at the "Zoomer" generation, kids born after the new millennium who have been raised in a culture centered around the internet.
It's from the perspective of those who have an enormous financial stake in encouraging those kids, now young adults, to spend literally all of their time on the internet. No matter what it is you want, the internet is where you should go. Give us your data and let us sell you ads, and never leave. They want to make you think that their intentions are pure, to give you a platform to express all your thoughts and desires, but there's no denying the real motivation is just like any other business, profit. And the way they profit is to get you addicted.

A little disappointed that none of the reactors I've listened to have, out loud at least, connected the line "Just nod or shake your head and we'll do the rest" as a direct allusion to the all-mighty algorithms that govern what we see on the internet, that you even talk about at the top of the video. I dunno if that's just a me thing or if the concept of algorithms is so embedded in our everyday lives that it just seemed like a casual line, but honestly I thought it was one of the more horrifying lines in the piece. Like even if you don't engage with the system at all (not using likes or dislikes), you still nod or shake your head if you watch the entire video vs ending it halfway through, for example.

Worth pointing out âyour time is now, your [inside]âs out. Honey how you grew, and if we stick together who knows what weâll doâ Bo took a 5 year break because he was having huge anxiety attacks and started to blackout after his last performance and immediately ran to go puke. There is injected moments where you realise Boâs fame blossomed on the internet and that this was his reality for a long time. He is a fantastic writer and always think to look deeper with his lyrics. Great vid â¤ď¸

what's most terrifying about it it's the fact that in the end, he won (the "Internet devil" character he enacts.). We're already tangled up in such a way that trying to kill it would basically rupture the society we know, and that's why he laughed. The maniacal and victorious laugh of a villain who knows that even if he dies, his plan would keep in motion.

First off, props, you are one of the only reactors (and there have been MANY for this song) that really seemed to 'get' the fact that the song is being sung from the perspective of a evil or demonic 'unreliable narrator' who tries to lure in the young and the venerable. Second, my first reaction to the title of this video was "wait, WHAT?" you've NEVER reacted to Bo Burnham? I know you do a lot of rap, but Jesus, Bo is fairly universally acclaimed as a musical and comedy genius. Thank goodness you seemed to indicate a familiarity with him even if you haven't reacted to his stuff.
