The more I think about The Dark Knight Rises, the more I realise that it's a convoluted, badly written and disappointing end to the Dark Knight trilogy. Join me as I do my best to break down the madness of its plot.

Bane: for my mastermind plan I need 30 years of ninja training, a nuclear bomb, an army, Wayne's accounts and batman equipment The Joker: just give me some gasoline

The best thing about The Dark Knight Rises, is that Bane is so quoteable.

I believe after Ledger's death, Nolan didn't want to continue but was forced to. Obviously, the Joker was going to return for the finale in a big way ("You and I are destined to do this forever...") but that became impossible unfortunately.

All plot holes aside, I enjoyed this super hero movie more than anything in the last 10 years

Even a bad Nolan film is an epic compared to most critically acclaimed films by today's standards.

I think they had a story already in mind for the third installment with the Joker, but had to scrap it because Heath passed. So they had to come up with something in a hurry, and ending up landing on Bane. Which I guess is because they decided a worthy physical adversary for Batman would be the next most interesting thing, and with the the League of Shadows connection from Batman Begins, they could explain that. Overall, I think they did a good job of wrapping up the story, and I still really enjoy The Dark Knight Rises despite its flaws. It was very emotional, and we see further growth from Bruce as a character, as he finds purpose in life outside of Batman. I can understand why some people don't enjoy it or really care for it, but I think there is some nitpicking from reviewers.

The way the critical drinker adds in Banes' "of course" made this a hundred times more wholesome 😂😂😂

Tom Hardy carried the whole movie on his shoulder and they straight up disrespect his character in the last act...

Bane did prepare us for one unavoidable reality in 2020: wearing a mask makes it really hard for people to understand wtf you're saying.

The more I rewatch this movie the more I get the feeling that Tom Hardy as Bane kind of carries the movie.....

The real question is, how did Craig get only 18 months for attempted murder?

The “Of Course” clip needs to be a recurring line in the reviews from now on

Biggest plot hole: Why WOULD someone shoot a man, BEFORE throwing him out of a plane?

Plane wings absolutely have a wind tolerance limit, and would be especially vulnerable at high speed and with that nose-down bank angle. But, yeah, that scene is ridiculous. Also, the dangling plane would create so much drag on the bigger plane as to make the latter uncontrollable. I'll see myself out.

It really was not great. One thing that struck me was when Batman returns to Gotham at the end and has a street fight with Bane, the fact that it is daytime really made it look…silly and dumb. I remember thinking the same thing when I was a kid on certain episodes of the animated series. Batman in broad daylight doesn’t work. Never will.

As an electrical engineer, I really hate when movies like this act like a nuclear reactor can be made into a nuclear bomb by flicking a switch. Nuclear power plants use 5% enriched uranium, nuclear bombs use 80% enriched uranium, and you’re not just going to get some scientist to magically enrich it for you!

Just realised that despite watching this film 2 or 3 times, I've never actually gathered what several of the major plot points were.

"Yet another title in the growing list of christopher nolan films that are nowhere near as good as you remember them." Spot on!
