The styles of dress in the 50’s really set off the beauty of women. It was such a lovely period!

This was filmed a year before I was born, but a lot of it reminds me of my early childhood in terms of how everything looks and how people behaved ...

Nothing like an old B & W Movie on a quiet Sat. Afternoon! These Movies always bring back so many memories of my childhood years! I was 8yrs old in 1958 & life was very much like the Life shown in these Films. I know everybody was ALOT more Innocent in those Days, they had Manners & everybody took care of their Mothers & Families. Sure there were Crooks & ppl you couldn't Trust & yes, there were alot of Tragedies that happened to ppl, but Nothing like what we see Today. It was just a few yrs after WWII & ppl had more Prosperity & Hope in their Hearts about the Future. It was a Wonderful time to grow up & I'm glad I experienced the Innocence of that Era!

How weird, in some scenes johnny reminded me of William Hopper who played Paul Drake in the orignal Perry Mason tv series and the Johnny actor's name is Charles Drake.

Alfred Hitchcock did this, with Joseph Cotton as the uncle and Teresa Wright as the niece. The title escapes me. 🙁 *in this version he isn't her Uncle Charlie. Here he's her brother in law, Johnny. It was Shadow of a Doubt

Ahh the old apartment buildings and cars *sigh*. I lived in San Francisco during the 60s in apartment buildings. The apartments were very much like in this movie except they weren’t brown stones. Actually, a good memory, particularly going to the Haight-Ashbury.

Shadow of a Doubt was great, but, this version is good too. I just don't see why the same story was filmed twice in a short amount of time. America was much, much safer then, than now. Sad to see how our country has deteriorated. Filmed on a backlot. Look next door and see the" Leave it to Beaver" house. Rod Taylor stared in Hitchcock's'" The Birds".
