The fact that life continues as normal in the background... oh my god. The sounds, the setting of the table for dinner, ugh... it’s so perfect. Because as hard as this shit can be, life does not stop. It goes on. Most beautiful movie I have ever seen

I'll never forget how silent the theater was during this scene. In that moment, everyone felt everything.

The reason why this scene is so heartbreaking is because it’s extremely realistic. Crying while you’re looking at a fixed point, the expressions of his eyes makes you feel like you are watching his memories and thoughts. And the family doing stuff on the background, like “the world keeps spinning”. The reflections of the fire in his face and the sound of the firewood. I could watch this for hours.

That scene and Elio's father's speech are what make this movie stand out

It's been 2 years since the release of the film and all I gotta say is: I remember everything

We need more movies like this. Movies that don’t always paint love as an everlasting fairytale. It’s incredibly sad, yes. But for the love of god, it’s REAL and so many people can relate. As Adele sings, “Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead.”

I like how the call me by your name header in the beginning was yellow and warm and in the end it was blue and cold

Everyone's talking about the movie and the actor, and very rightly so. Incredible scene. But do spare a thought for this wonderful artist who gave us the perfect song to complement it.

He deserves an Oscar for this scene alone, a whole spectrum of emotion, all believable, but also for making 80s fashion look Couture!

Not a single movie has touched me in the way this movie did. What a masterpiece. I will rewatch this film throughout my whole life.

It has been six months since I saw this film for the first time and I still, almost every day, think about it. It's a disease.

I was 17 in 1983, just like Elio in the movie. This movie brought me right back to the time, the love and the heartbreak. Like the universe was talking to me, reminding me of how deeply I felt back then. I thought I had lost the ability to feel that deeply but if I can feel sadness this deeply, it also means I can still feel joy this deeply, and love this deeply.

how he smiles and cries at the same time.. its like he's remembering everything from summer in the warmth of the fire. This movie is truly amazing and heartbreaking. Even if you never felt love, you'll feel it and if you once were in love, it makes you want to fall all again. It touches everyones heart. I truly love this scene
