The reason why this scene is so heartbreaking is because itâs extremely realistic. Crying while youâre looking at a fixed point, the expressions of his eyes makes you feel like you are watching his memories and thoughts. And the family doing stuff on the background, like âthe world keeps spinningâ. The reflections of the fire in his face and the sound of the firewood. I could watch this for hours.

I was 17 in 1983, just like Elio in the movie. This movie brought me right back to the time, the love and the heartbreak. Like the universe was talking to me, reminding me of how deeply I felt back then. I thought I had lost the ability to feel that deeply but if I can feel sadness this deeply, it also means I can still feel joy this deeply, and love this deeply.

how he smiles and cries at the same time.. its like he's remembering everything from summer in the warmth of the fire. This movie is truly amazing and heartbreaking. Even if you never felt love, you'll feel it and if you once were in love, it makes you want to fall all again. It touches everyones heart. I truly love this scene

The fact that life continues as normal in the background... oh my god. The sounds, the setting of the table for dinner, ugh... itâs so perfect. Because as hard as this shit can be, life does not stop. It goes on. Most beautiful movie I have ever seen
