I've completed the tutorial and my magic proficiency hasn't moved a millimetre and all I've done in combat is cast Burning Ember and I've tried Spectral Sword once. Bug report or am I doing it wrong? Also, anyone know why Spectral Sword removes the left hand? I'd still like to cast spells, thanks.
Edit: It seems to take a while for magic to increase

So this definitely look like a modern day elder scrolls day with good combat, I started playing skyrim for the first time last week and while I'm loving the exploration the combat feels very bad and it's making it had to keeping after about 25hours played, if the game had up to date graphics and satisfying combat I could see myself playing it for 100's of hours
