Very helpful! Tack! But what if the A is the ending letter of a word? It seems that for the other vowels it will be the long version while for the A it will be the short version?🤔

Is there any logic as to how vowels sound at the final syllable of words? I think I’ve noticed in polysyllabic words that the one or more consonant rule doesn’t really apply. Words like “fika” where that final “a” doesn’t really sound like “aw” make me very confused.
