I never could have guessed that this song on a cd would be the year I enlisted in the Army 28 years ago. I was homeless and living in the woods outside of Spokane, WA. My enlistment address is the Union Gospel Mission in Spokane. I'm retired now, but life was so much simpler then. No internet, no smart phones, no 24 hour news cycle. Just work, some play, and sleep when you got it.

Go on and close the curtains
'Cause all we need is candlelight
You and me, and a bottle of wine
Gonna hold you tonight, uh, yeah
Well, we know I'm going away
And how I wish, I wish it weren't so
So take this wine and drink with me
Let's delay our misery
Save tonight
And fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow
Tomorrow I'll be gone
Save tonight
And fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow
Tomorrow I'll be gone
There's a log on the fire
And it burns like me for you
Tomorrow comes with one desire
To take me away, oh, it's true
It ain't easy to say goodbye
Darlin', please, don't start to cry
'Cause, girl, you know I've got to go, oh
And, Lord, I wish it wasn't so
Save tonight
And fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow
Tomorrow I'll be gone
Save tonight
And fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow
Tomorrow I'll be gone
Tomorrow comes to take me away
I wish that I, that I could stay
But, girl, you know I've got to go, oh
And, Lord, I wish it wasn't so
Save tonight
And fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow
Tomorrow I'll be gone
Save tonight
And fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow
Tomorrow I'll be gone
Save tonight
And fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow
Tomorrow I'll be gone
Save tonight
And fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow
Tomorrow I'll be gone
Tomorrow I'll be gone
Tomorrow I'll be gone
Tomorrow I'll be gone
Tomorrow I'll be gone
Save tonight
Save tonight
Save tonight
Save tonight
Oh, that's right
Save tonight
Save tonight

This was my sisters wedding song! She married her high school sweetheart when they were only sixteen because he was diagnosed with leukaemia and given six months to live. Theyād been dating since the beginning of grade seven. They danced to this song and every single one of us jaded teenage Gen Xāers were crying our eyes out! He lived another four good years, very happily with my sister and our family before spending the last few months slowly deteriorating, and passing away in our living room a few days before his twenty second birthday. He played this song one last time for my sister an hour before he passed, and it will always remind me of one of the most beautiful moments Iāve ever witnessed! The saddest part is that more than twenty years later she still hasnāt dated once
