Sony needs to revive this camera line. We need an RX1R III that includes weather sealing and Sony’s latest technology. If they do release a RX1R III, I will preorder it in a heartbeat.

Bold predictions: Sony will finally update this camera. With the popularity of the Leica Q series, Fuji X100 series and Ricoh GRiii series they’d be foolish not to. The buttons, dials, viewfinder, battery and latest Sony AF tech would all be welcomed updates IMO.
Also, we getting a new Sony 50mm f1.4 G lens soon too!

Had mine for a few years. Definitely a unique camera that I plan to never give up. Hope for a Mark 3 version.

I absolutely love the RX1s! I’ve owned and used both the RX1 and the RX1RII. To me the RX1RII is a much more usable camera, but somehow the original RX1 design feels just a bit more refined. Kind of like how the Q3 added a lot of useful features, but in turn sort of made the design less refined than the seemingly perfect Q2 body. Also I feel like the RX1RII images look crisp but seem to lack a bit of the beautiful mellow feel of the images from the original RX1. All the RX1s are amazing though, and I’d really love to see a mark 3 with slightly bigger batteries and weather sealing ☺️

I’ve always admired this camera. I feel like a holy grail for me would be 2 cameras in this style, one either 28mm or 35mm, and the other 85mm. Two small fixed lens cameras, 28mm (or 35mm) and 85mm… I could shoot a full wedding or event with that. Basically Leica needs to come out with an 85mm Q. Love it.

I feel like 30mm or wider at f2 and you shooting anything that’s further than 20 metres away a phone picture is just as good, close up portraits though it’s really good

The price is a bit tough to swallow. Its more expensive (both at RRP and currently on the secondary market) than my main FF camera, the A7R IV.

Trying to find a decent long hot shoe thumb grip (like the red one) and the one Pierre used on the RX1Rii in his video - I have a shirt one but my thumb doesn’t rest in the right place. Any idea what make yours is?

My RX1R ll is, of all my cameras, the one I carry the most. Even with its known issues such as battery life, not weather sealed, and no firmware updates, the image quality and overall "shoot-ability" make it my favorite. It is in my hand more than my Leica, my Nikon, and my M4/3 cameras and certainly my film cameras. If I lost it or it became totally inoperative I would buy another over the Leica or Fuji compact ultras.

Does this camera have an option to turn on and off based on the pop up EV being deployed/stowed?
The RX100 does this and I love the feature.
