Fred Armisen does an entire comedy act based on the drums . Drummers, you gotta check it out. Also, Fred played a lead role on the show "Portlandia" along with Carrie Brownstein. Fred and Carrie first met when Carrie was on an extended break from her job as a guitarist for the rock band Sleater Kinney, it was then that Carrie found the time to write some comedy sketches and ended up performing in some of them on Saturday Night Live, along side Fred Armisen who, was a regular cast member on SNL. The show Portlandia was inspired by and loosely based on those skits. I loved the show. I have to admit I'm biased because I've lived in the northwest my whole life and if you've ever visited Portland or Seattle you probably noticed the neo hippie, organic, No GMO's, kombucha, artistic, vibe that defines a large group of nortwesterners. And that's the vibe of Portlandia, only the characters are hilariously stereotyped and caricaturized. It's a funny show but it's also a hip show. ☮
