how she perfectly encapsulates the raw, lonely feeling of being an adolescent in a big scary world has always been beyond me. pure genius

Pure Heroine is not just Lorde's best album, but one of the greatest albums of all time, and the fact that she was a teenager when she wrote it, speaks so much about her maturity.

Lorde was my bestfriend's favourite artist. He passed away in a tragic incident 5 years ago tho it feels like it was yesterday. He left at the age of 20 while i was 22, we planned our entire life and adulthood together. This loss left a hole in my soul. I come back to this album whenever I can because it makes me feel so damn close to him. Im now dancing in this world alone, 27yo and living every single day in his memory, trying to honor him as much as i can. This music keeps my memories alive and helps me go through my pain.

Dude this song is amazing I feel like there's this raw emotion, you can picture two people in a lonely world just trying to be good enough and I think that's something a lot of people relate to because this shows how love isn't perfect and the world isn't suddenly better because you're in love but it shows how you always have each other. Just like that feeling, this song is irreplaceable omg I love Lorde

I love how when you listen to this album on loop, she says "Let 'em talk" at the end of the last song ( this one) and then the very first song (Tennis Court) immediately starts with "Don't you think that it's boring how people talk"

Happy 10th Anniversary to the album that really changed how I viewed and appreciated the little things in life. Thank you Lorde for being with us and creating such a masterpiece that’ll live on forever in our hearts.

That slow burn wait while it gets dark, bruising the sun. I feel grown up with you in your car, I know it's dumb. Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh We've both got a million bad habits to kick, not sleeping is one. We're biting our nails, you're biting my lip, I'm biting my tongue. Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh People are talking, people are talking (ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh) People are talking, people are talking Raise a glass, 'cause I'm not done saying it. They all wanna get rough, get away with it. Let 'em talk 'cause we're dancing in this world alone, world alone, we're all alone. All my fake friends and all of their noise, complain about work They're studying business, I study the floor, and you haven't stopped smoking all night. Maybe the Internet raised us, or maybe people are jerks. People are talking, people are talking (but not you) People are talking, people are talking Raise a glass, 'cause I'm not done saying it. They all wanna get rough, get away with it. Let 'em talk 'cause we're dancing in this world alone, world alone, we're all alone. All the double-edged people and schemes. They make a mess then go home and get clean. You're my best friend, and we're dancing in a world alone, a world alone, we're all alone. I know we're not everlasting We're a train wreck waiting to happen One day the blood won't flow so gladly One day we'll all get still (people are talking, people are talking) (people are talking, people are talking) Get still Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh People are talking, people are talking (ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh) People are talking, people are talking Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh People are talking, people are talking (ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh) People are talking, people are talking Raise a glass, 'cause I'm not done saying it. They all wanna get rough, get away with it. Let 'em talk 'cause we're dancing in this world alone, world alone, we're all alone. All the double-edged people and schemes. They make a mess then go home and get clean. You're my best friend and we're dancing in a world alone, a world alone, we're all alone. People are talking, people are talking People are talking, people are talking People are talking, people are talking People are talking, people are talking Let 'em talk

This whole album is such a vibe. Lorde's ability to evoke a very specific feeling through music and words never fails to amaze me. I also have to give props to her production team for understanding the assignment on this album. The music and minimal beats are just enough. They never overshadow her vocals, which shine through more than any other aspect.

Mannnnnn, this song always hits me in a weird way. Especially the first few seconds of the song. I moved from LA to a really small town - when I was about 15. I grew up in LA all my life so the shift was so surreal. I wouldn’t eat in lunch, and just sit in the library (pretending to read). For the first year. No friends, no joy, no source of information of how my friends were doing in LA. I felt soooo lonely it was so heartbreaking, and abyssal. This song, was always in repeat bc I’d just get home to my parents and nothing else. Just me in a new small town. I felt so foreign. So on the bus rides home, I’d just put this song and look out the window. And to this day, that feeling, transports me back. Music is always a safe haven.

This is hopefully a reminder of myself 10 years from now, an adult from a small teenager stuck in my bedroom listening to this gem. I've probably went through tears and successes, but I'm still alive and I will try to keep going. Hopefully to a better future.

Barely an artist release an album in their teen era that talk about life as a whole. Not solely about trashing your ex at highschool.

Was watching Skam and this song started playing at the beginning of the second episode. Oh man, I forgot how much I loved this song. One of my favorite albums for sure!

This song makes me happy and almost sad at the same time like I’m missing something that I’m longing for. It’s nostalgic in a way and makes me feel like I’ve always had a home that I’ve yet to reach. It’s also like the ideal summer song.
