I have been wanting to put in one of the optional Roms into my C128. I haven't seen a switchable one before, or I have forgotten about seeing one.

My only two issues with the SidKick are its height and the fact, as you've mentioned as well, that it is quite a bit quiter than the original SID. Other than that, it's a fine device. Ignoring the different price points, I still prefer the ARMSID for the aforementioned reasons.

I'm quite keen to try the SIDkick, myself. It looks like a great device.

I am building the new FPGA +2A PCB which fits in the original Spectrum case. There is also a new Pico ZX which lets you build a Spectrum out of a Pi Pico.

Oh dear, that Speccie looks to be in a poor condition. I am curious whether you will be able to get a decent picture out of it. Will definitely watch your videos to come. The Raspberry Pi Pico really is the right niche computer to do a retro heavy lifting. I'm surprised how good the SID is working. I was also thinking to build my poor man's XUM1541 when I found the title of this video. I hope you will eventually get to a proper directory listing in DirMaster. I somehow cannot believe the C64 is getting it but your PC isn't. It sure must be something trivial. It may take some weeks until I get mine working. So many variants.
