Just bought some korkers yesterday like what you have on and did my first ever tog fishing, on a jetty in Jersey. It was so much fun and man are the big ones powerful swimmers! At first, I was throwing out to the side in the jetty 10-15 yards into the rocks. Catching nothing but these little guys. 3β to 8β. Meanwhile 4 other guys were out there too. Not even paying attention to them, one guy comes walking through and by me to leave with a stringer of 5 big ones. Like 17β+. Iβm like damn man you got a nice haul today and Iβm thinking to myself why the hell am I catching nothing but these little guys? So Iβm watching the other guys still out down a little further past me and I see them pulling up big ones BUT they are fishing pockets between the rocks. So Iβm like ok, let me find a pocket that looks deep. I drop my line in and bam!! I get my first big one that was a 15β keeper! Keep going at it and walking around finding other pockets in the middle of the jetty. I ended up with another keeper at 17β and lots of 13 to 14 inches. Plus some little guys here and there. I ended up running out of green crabs and bag of frozen raw jumbo shelled on shrimp I brought too. One of the other guys I watched was also leaving and with keepers and I told him that Iβm glad you were here and I was able to watch how you guys were fishing. Because I was getting nothing but tiny ones out on the sides of the jetty but as soon as I did what I saw you guys doing I caught lots of big ones! He says yeah man! Wanna know why that is? I said sure. He said the big ones are looking for the warmer water this time of year and itβs warmer water between the rocks and with the sun beating on them.
Maybe you can help me out with this? So the carbide spikes on the bottom of the korkers. Do you have any idea on how often they need or should be replaced? I noticed after my first day on them yesterday that the spikes are now flat little pegs. One thing I donβt ever want to happen is to get caught out there and they fail on me from being worn out or something. Walking those jettyβs scare the π© out of me even with these on lol. You can easily die slipping on those rocks. I tried googling and couldnβt even find an answer

ThatΕ one of my favorite summer tog spots. There are two holes at the end that seem to have keepers. The rest of the jetty is nothing but shorts. Love the videos. Keep them coming. I hope there is a time when Rich is kayaking in the channel while you and EPF are fishing there at the same time. Tight Lines

I've been visiting Brigantine a lot this summer and viewed all your surf and jetty fishing videos for reference. Took my 3rd time to master spot and kingfish from the surf. But I have yet to have that crazy rod bend experience I see in your videos and Hey Skipper, Bama Beach Bum, Brandt, or Salt Bros. etc. In fact, my pb size wise is only an 18 inch dogfish. What am I doing wrong?
