we did all the effects using final cut pro, shake and cinema 4d. as far as i remember, we didn't use after effects for any of the shots in ttp, although you can definitely get similar looking imagery from ae or any other editing/fx package. just personal preference and what we had to work with. (diy + perfectionism is one way i like to describe the way we made this.)
