In this episode of Tuna on Toast, Ted Stryker welcomes Jared Watson from Dirty Heads to the show.Ā Dirty Heads just released their ninth full length studio album titledĀ Midnight Control produced by Ryan Ogren. Ā

Jared and Stryker first connected long before the first Dirty Heads album was released.Ā  The guys chat about a fun night on the Sunset Strip with M. Shadows and The Rev from AvengedĀ Sevenfold.
Jared tells Stryker about how back in high school, both he and Duddy B would write rhymes....fun, funny, offensive rhymes.Ā  That lead to the guys writing their own original songs like "Antelope" and "I Got No Time". Ā
Jared gives so much love and props to the Beastie Boys, Pharcyde and Linkin Park! Ā
The guys chat about what actually IS success....
Jared tells Stryker the band talks about how they can improve after every show. These guys care! It's so cool to hear how dedicated they are as a band to the craft!Ā
Stryker and Jared discuss "Life's Been Good", the Dirty Heads cover of the Joe Walsh song.Ā
The guys play a game of "Dirty Heads" Jeopardy.
Jared tells Stryker he's a huge Incubus fan!
Jared conveys to Stryker that the new album Midnight Control is their best material, best album since Any Port in a Storm.
Jared talks about his new vocal coach and the training involved plus applying it to the live show.Ā
Stryker asks Jared about the song "Vacation" going viral on TikTok.Ā
Jared also shares that each band member now has responsibilitiesĀ within the band.Ā
Stryker asks Jared about the most expensive music videos Dirty Heads have created.....
Stryker and Jared discuss the early shows at The Roxy and how Duddy would pack up party buses and fill up The Roxy with friends and fans from Huntington Beach!Ā  This led to the guys signing with their manager "Cheese"......who is still their manager.Ā
Jared and Stryker chat about Dirty Heads getting signed to Warner Bros. Records and also getting dropped by them, but...the goodĀ folks at WBR let Dirty Heads keep theirĀ master recordings!Ā
Jared Watson is one talented and dedicated dude! Thank you so much for watching and listening to another episode of Tuna on Toast with Stryker.

This was so much fun to watch & listen to! I love DH so much! Stryker, youā€™re such a great host and interviewer and this was my first Tuna episode ever! I loved hearing you on KROQ! Like so many others, my routines changed with Covid and I donā€™t commute anymore so my time to listen to music and podcasts was cut down to almost nothing, and it seems so hard to find time in the day to those things anymore :( But Iā€™m so happy to see and hear your voice! Keep up the great work!

You can tell by his stage precense now he is in a better place, he is actively enjoying performing and making it his rather than being stressed I've followed them for years since they first started and seeing them this summer their growth and their stage presence is just so beautiful their hard work has paid off and love every but of it!

Great interview! And makes so much sense. I just saw D.H. in Chicago July, and they killed it so hard! Unbelievable good. So happy to see! This interview hits all the right spots and I heard what J is talking about in his performance.

This was a fantastic interview, Stryker! I learned so much about Jared & DH & Iā€™ve been a fan for over a decade! I absolutely loved how Jared said, ā€œIā€™m never getting out of here, huh?ā€ during the intro after seeing your sad clown! Lol Thank you for this interview. It was definitely my favorite that youā€™ve done so far. ā¤

We had a DH playlist going on YouTube when the My Sweet Summer videos released, and accidentally traumatized our 4 year old when the skeleton video played. He wouldn't listen to it for years. Now that he has a couple DH shows under his belt, it's a favorite.

I feel like Jared should do a solo album. Not to slight DH in ANY way but just cuz his voice is so dope and it would be cool.
