In July, she put out a new version of her hit “Bad Guy” with a cameo from Justin Bieber, and less than two weeks later, she was nominated for nine MTV Video Music Awards. Yesterday afternoon, she released the official video for "all the good girls go to hell." By nightfall, it had been viewed over 5 million times.

She’s the first number one artist born this millennium, and too young to have ever owned a CD. She’s the youngest female star to top the charts in a decade, and the only one ever to have 14 simultaneous chart entries. She’s more than a cultural upstart; she’s seemingly the answer to a dying industry.
