Linda Ronstadt's phenomenal performance of the classic song Desperado. Performed in her favorite way - just her and a piano. Masterly accompanied by the late, great Don Grolnick.

One thing about Linda Ronstadt: when she sang a song, she definitely made it her own.

I'm old now and I think to myself, how lucky was I to live in the time when all those great artists like Ronstadt, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Doobie Bros, ABBA, ACDC, INXS, Elton, ELO, BeeGees, Frampton, plus many many others were our normal listening on the radio. I don't think we appreciated how good these artists were. Linda Ronstadt was every young mans dream, and I listen to this song, and remember all the girls in my life, who tried to imitate her look. It was a wonderful time to be alive!

One woman, one piano, one microphone. If you can listen to this without getting the chills....how? Beyond greatness.

No auto tune, no theatrics, just a piano and her flawless voice.

Her voice was a gorgeous marvel. Crystal clear with effortless power and unadorned sorrow. Nothing compares now and truthfully she sang loops around her contemporaries. Linda...sigh.

A piano, a spotlight and Linda. You don't need nothing more. Perfect!

The power of profound lyrics paired with truly awesome vocals touches our souls. I had the pleasure of seeing Linda in 1980 in Raleigh, NC. At the time, I was 19 year-old soldier stationed in Ft. Bragg, NC. I always loved this song. Now, at age 63, newly retired I hear lyrics in the context of my own life. And, they take on a whole new meaning. "You better let somebody love you... before it's too late". I found the love of my life at age 57.

She sang sorrow, heartbreak and longing like no one else. No wonder "folks would crawl on broken glass to have Ronstadt wrap those pipes around a tune". A songwriter's champion with a pure poweful voice and a vibe of unadorned passion. Linda...sigh.

I cry for those days and that music. It spoke to me then and still does now. It's helped celebrate the good times and get me through the bad. I'm 69 now and I wouldn't change my life for anything. The opportunity to have lived in that era and to hear the music is a privilege.

I'm 62 and I've loved Linda's voice since the first time I heard it. I must have been 15 or 16 years old and I would watch Midnight Special every Saturday night. She is a beautiful woman with an incredible voice. Thank you, Linda, for sharing your songs with us.

It may be an Eagles song, but this is the definitive performance. Spellbinding. Henley and Frey credited Linda with turning the song into a hit for them. Not to mention giving them their start as members of he backing group.
