Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to everyone, the podcast team and also all who watch! Hugs from Netherlands. I am taking this in for the next few months and giving it thought and more thought even with my limited F1-skill brain. Why I do this is because I value your channel, your podcasts and absolutely your guests like Blake H.. What is being said leaves much room for considerations and that in itself I find a challenge for my old but enthused brain in the most postive way possible. Your channel will remain really high up in my list because I LEARN so much from it .. moment by moment and step by step and for this I thank you all!

There are two things you can do with incessant criticism. You can use it to prove everyone wrong (Max) or you can bow under the pressure ( second seat drivers RB).
Max has been and is critized about everything under the sun. His reckless driving, harsh opinions, being too young and whatnot.
At that young age he could have very well cracked under the pressure and in the years prior to 21 he seriously considered going to another team. But he made a deal with Red Bull that if they provided him with a winning car he would do everything in his power to win championships and break records and he came through in spades.
He made it his business to learn to drive these Newey cars at its fastest setup and as Alex Albon can attest to that setup is like driving a raging bull.
Making it look easy doesn't mean that it is easy. It would have been so easy to get cocky and overdrive this magnificent piece if machinary which would subsequently lead to mistakes but he never did. Max showd us what it means be in controll over 22 races even when he was on the backfoot or having won the championship already.
His greatest achievement is his ability to concentrate on doing the job he is payed for very handsomely and never let the general opinion, good or bad, influence him.
In any sport or industry that is the mark of a true winner.

I do think there are to many excuses made for Lewis. He was in the second best car and didn't show an extraordinary fight for a win as you should expect from a multiple world champion. Instead we saw a Lewis (and Toto) blaming others in the team, when they in fact should have looked to themselves where they were failing! They are destroying the team spirit!

Seriously guys…you’re making the performance gap between Verstappen and Perez way too much about comfort in the car. Perez hasn’t got what it takes to perform under pressure. And Max is not given nearly enough credit for even coming 2nd from 15th, 1st from 9th etc. Whenever Max gets pushed, challenged or antagonized, he ups his game two levels and destroys the field with flawless consistency and pace. See Miami, Zandvoort, Japan, Vegas.

One of the reason I actually like Lance is the reason you guys don't. He doesn't deal with the media or the bs bait questions. He is there to race not chit chat to the media and give them headlines. Him snubbing the media is honestly why I do like him. Him as a racer, no.. he should give up F1 and go to Endurance/WEC tbh, might do better there.

Its just a bunch of sukkahs on the grid who don't want to challenge Max. Think Lando at British GP this year. If Max was in Lando's place he would have fought the place harder. Only 2 drivers on the grid that legitimately fight max no matter how bad their car is and that's Lewis and George but the don't have a car that's competitive enough. Others don't even try just because his car is faster when a lot of time if they tried it would have compromised max race a bit too and if 5 more drivers did the same Max wouldn't be able to fly through the grid to P1.Instead they just give way to max then want to call themselves drivers. One thing I can give to max is no matter how bad his car is he will always fight his position to the end.

I doubt Max's change of tune was not because he won the race rather because he actually enjoyed rhe racing. And such is Max, he will tell it as it is, before the race, he was right to feel rhe way he did and after the race, he had the right to change his opinion on the race. But the result notwithstanding, he was right to call out the gimmicky stuff that needs to said
