A live news broadcast was interrupted by a powerful earthquake in Taiwan. Set TV's studio was violently shaken as their news presenter alerted viewers of the 7.4-magnitude quake.

At least nine people were killed and more than 800 injured by the earthquake on Wednesday morning, which has also left dozens trapped in collapsed road tunnels.

Video of the aftermath shows buildings at precarious angles in the eastern city of Hualien, an earthquake-prone area about 96 miles south of Taipei. Efforts were under way to rescue 127 people stuck under collapsed buildings and landslides.

She wasn't just reading the news. She was doing weather report and reporting the earthquake as it was happening, telling people to remain calm.

She stood her ground, didn't panic. I don't know if that was a smart thing. But I respect that. Give her a raise

She didn’t panic because she trust the engineers who built those buildings. If this was Turkey she would have crapped her self. As a Turkish person I’am ashamed of our crappy buildings.

She did not follow the scripts since the earthquake, instead, she said "I am in this situation right now, you can see things falling off from the ceiling. Audiences in front of the TV, please must stay safe"

This is Taiwan spirit, how they’re able to produce world’s high-end micro chips. If you’ve been to Taiwan or know a Taiwanese, they have the best quality of Chinese and Japanese combined. That’s how the country is thriving.

This lady has absolute nerves of steel. What a way to keep talking to her audience while the ground underneath her feet is shaking violently like that. All my respect to her.

The fact she kept going is an incredible show of determination on the part of the news reader, as well as the camera crew and producers who kept going despite the tremors.

as a Taiwanese, there are many earthquakes in our lives we have a common concept that if the earthquake is quite small, then we would just wait and keep doing our work or school stuff if there’s a massive earthquake, it’s nowhere for us to run 👉just keep safe and wait the quake passes
