I feel like if you want to debate someone on an opinion and you're not a politician, you probably are still in high school or belong there! π I don't have conversations with a ton of random people (online or otherwise) but when I'm talking to friends we definitely converse more like you were talking about with you and Slaid: We just talk about why our opinions are different. If someone considers the other's opinion or a mind changes, great. But no one is explicitly trying to do so or anything like that. That's the way to be.

Lol, you're great, dude. π A couple combos with you: @ 17:20, you essentially say whatever the truth of the matter is, it'll become known. (-Luke 8:17) @ the quote, wherever you go, go with all your heart. I put that scripture on the wall as one of the 4 classroom rules. "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom." (-Eccl. 9:10) Not to say that there is no intelligence or action, but there's no ability to make an impact on the world [that helps ppl determine their fates] like there is now. You can't build up spiritual treasure anymore, you can't help ppl make better decisions---that's over. Your ability to influence has past. Anyway, I know what you mean about being talked at and the "I'd rather be working on my stuff than being an inactive audience here." π And how debates are more Destructive for most ppl than collaborative and constructive... it's not the way it has to be, man. Ah.
