Lyrics:
A dustland fairytale beginning
Or just another white trash
County kiss
In Sixty-one
Long brown hair and foolish eyes
He looked just like you’d want him to
Some kind of slick chrome American prince
A blue jean serenade
Moon River what'd you do to me
But I don't believe you

Saw Cinderella in a party dress but
She was looking for a night gown
Saw the devil wrapping up his hands
He's getting ready for the show down
Saw the minute that I turned away
I got my money on a pawn tonight

A change came in disguise of revelation
Set his soul on fire
She said she always knew he'd come around
And the decades disappear like sinking ships
But we persevere God gives us hope
But we still fear
What we don't know
The mind is poison
Castles in the sky
Sit stranded vandalized
The drawbridge is closing

Saw Cinderella in a party dress but
She was looking for a night gown
I saw the devil wrapping up his hands
He's getting ready for the show down
I saw the ending when they turned the page
I took my money and I ran away
Straight to the Valley of the Great Divide

Out where the dreams all hide
Out where the wind don't blow
Out here the good girls die
And the sky don't snow
Out here the bird don't sing
Out here the field don't grow
Out here the bell don't ring
Out here the bell don't ring
Out here the good girls die

Now Cinderella don't you go to sleep
It's such a bitter form of refuge
Ah don't you know the kingdom’s under siege
And everybody needs you
Is there still magic in that midnight sun
Or did you leave it back in sixty-one
In the cadence of a young man's eyes
Out where the dreams all hide

Bruce is 71 years old, at September he'll be 72. Amazing. The boss

Sam’s Town was included as “one of the top 5 Springsteen albums” in a survey…these voices were meant to go together ❤️

I will NEVER get tired of listening to this song. It is nothing short of a modern masterpiece.

Just lost my dad a month ago. He loved good music. It pains me to think that I couldn't have shown him this. He would have adored this.

Look into Brandon and Bruce's eyes. Brandon means and feels every single word he's singing. Bruce looks like he's moved to the point of holding back tears. What pure bittersweet beauty

Brandon performs the hell out of absolutely every song, but when he does Dustland Fairytale its always another level

Springsteen gives this already poignant song an even deeper melancholic feel

Brandon wrote this song about his mother who died and Bruce's mom is very ill so it's so fitting that Bruce wanted to record this with Brandon. gorgeous rendition and the video is perfection

Bruce’s voice has aged like fine wine, and this is a legendary duo! Who else agrees?

Wow, the two pillars of American rock and roll. Doesn’t get much better than that!

The original is awesome, but with Bruce it's genius. The Killers are one of the best bands ever.

This collaboration hits so much harder that it came out after Pressure Machine. The longer The Killers are around, the more impressed I am by them. They have become so incredible with their songs and stories, and they were AWESOME back with the first album. Seriously such an incredible band. Two greats to take on one classic song. 10/10. A+.

This combo has made sense since Sam’s Town. Into it.

It was changed to "Dustland" because Brandon's fantasy of a collaboration with Bruce is no longer a fairytale.. It's reality. Beautiful collab!

That split second when Bruce sings" out here the good girls... die" , just raised the fur up on my arm. Brilliant.

Brandon wrings every bit of emotion in him into this song. This song made me sob. The showdown is raging. When he sings "don't you go to sleep... it's such a bitter form of refuge" and "don't you know the kingdom's under siege... and everybody needs you" It punched me right in the heart.

Can’t believe Bruce is 71 - he’s doing well for that age. His voice has aged but like with Johnny Cash that ain’t a bad thing but part of the growth as an artist.

The Killers - Their songs are not just music. They are works of art. Wow, do their songs touch us in so many different ways. The best band this century in my opinion.
