Colds are the worst, what does your healing routine look like when illness strikes?

I'm recovering now I have been doing what you are saying. The sun was out today and I was helping the animals as usual. Knowing they needed the day to start gets me up every morning. I have an animal rescue so got to get up. My volunteers helped me and I took a day to rest. Today much better. Ginger tea and saged every day

Thank you, Mallory! I liked your advices. The seven grandfathers teachings (respect, humility, love) are aspects I never thought about before - but now I will! I use the Incas method: breath down your "heavy" energy (hocha) down your legs, down your feet down to Mother Earth. Then ask her for her gift (ayni) - the light energy (sami) which you draw up from Pachamama through your feet when you inhale. Exchanging energies, a win-win situation. Do this whenever you need, how much you wish. ❀

Miigwech Mallory. Very useful and helpful information. Have used traditional medicines when younge, went to modern medicines from 25 through 60 years of age. Going back to the more traditional Indigenous ways now. You have taught me much. Miigwech Chi Miigwech. (I hope I said that correctly..trying to learn.)

When I get sick, I try to focus on improving my mental/emotional state so that the discomfort is easier to tolerate. I also try and allow myself to disconnect from work and responsibilities so I can rest up. There are proactive things I do to prevent getting sick as well such as regular exercise, good nutrition and the like. Thanks for this video, you always leave me in a better mood or with something important to think about.

Found this massively helpful. I always put theives oil blend in the diffuser to cleanse the home of bugs we're breathing out. Plant medicine-wise im never with out marshmallow root, mullien, coltsfoot and meadowsweet. I loved the grandfather teachings. I shall have those in mind from now

Love this and all is very true. I usually get allergies a few times of the year that can develop into a sinus infection if not treated. What I have found that works great for me is using a neti pot or squeeze bottle with a mixture of purified water, salt, baking soda and whit vinegar.

I have also used the methods you have, however, never took any meds. I just smudge, rely on my ancestors and because I have the colours of the medicine wheel on my regalia it protects me. I have not been sick with a cold or flu for more than 15 years. Remained healthy, exercise and stay positive.

Miigwech for sharing this Wisdom!! I avoid using pharmaceuticals whenever possible. A wholistic doctor once told me that most medications only mask the symptoms but can actually prolong the healing by drying out the mucus membranes! Since everything is related, as you pointed out, mental state can affect your physical well being and vice a versa.. Chi-MiigwechπŸ’—πŸ˜ŠπŸŒˆ

I have heard that Red Willow Bark can be brewed into a tea that may help with aches and fever.
