The Sisters of mercy played Romeo down live for the first time on the 14th of january 1998 and it is still reappearing on the setlist from time to time. My version is based on the 2022-version Sisters played in Oslo and Gothenburg. Earlier versions had a howling kind of vocals, especially the Romeo down-part at the end, but not in 2022 so after hearing those 2 versions without the howling I thought I might try to record the song.
Romeo down to me is reading a poem with some background music, kind of a distant cousin to Never land or Driven like the snow.

I was waiting for your version of Romeo Down and the hair on my arms came up. Congratulations! I have two live versions of Romeo Down with acceptable quality. But now I am very happy to have a real good quality version by someone who have the right spirit to make a perfect Sisters studio version of it. Good job again and again! I think a lot of Sisters fans are and were waiting for this. 👍

Nice! You've found something in there that I've never noticed before. Always found this one a bit flat live. Bass riff kinda wants to be Driven like the snow, but isn't as good, the drone guitars take it back to the EP days (with a pretty simple scratch drum track). But I think you've found a sort of mid point between Flood and Ribbons that's kinda listenable.
