I think this video goes brilliantly with the song .. there's something really really whimsical about these elderly women, something sneaky, charming, something fluffy and light just like the mood of the song itself. You can't be quite sure whats the story about but there's the beauty about a half told story, the golden girls seems to be double tricking each other and at the last moment it seems all of them succumb to some sort of high inducing aroma when the wind starts to blow against the questionable garden..
I prefer this to the muppet video, not too heavy, not too self conscious, that one might be an anti-alcoholic public service story by itself but its just too straight up, not whacky enough nor quirky and off-beat enough for the kind of music Royksopp makes.. doesn't gel too well with the music. Whats more, with music that do not have lyrics, I'm sure Royksopp appreciates the latitude of re-interpretations that their imaginative music induces in different people... it does not always have to be a literal interpretation when it comes to music videos..
The music goes fantastically with light fluffy whimsical stuffs about a little drama over a few sips of tea , and how old grannies may be a bit more complicated and scheming than we think ..

This Video suits the song so well, I can't capture it really in words.
What one feels hearing this song is on the one hand side the happy, fantastical upbeat and on the other hand side this following depressing downbeat.
The music and the video capture how it feels to be an alcaholic these days.
Both song and video show: For an alcoholic, the world is somehow shiny and totaly glamorous but you know that thats not the reality, from which you want to escape. Thats, for me, is the reason the video is *breathtaking dark*.
However the puppet video only pictures how alcoholism seems from outside as a viewer and not out of the alcoholic view.

If you didnt really catch what this video was about: it is based on one of Argentina's famous killers, María de las Mercedes Bernardina Bolla Aponte de Murano, AKA Yiya Murano. She killed 3 of her friends, two of which she owed money to, with a little bottle of poison. She also used sweet powdered cookies to disguise the poison. Her warm, humble grandma-like attitude has confused everyone to this day. She still denies the murders. PLZ thumb up so people know :)
