For me healing had to incorporate a spiritual component. When a sensitive person goes through years of neglect and abuse it gets stored in your soul as well. You need to heal that part with meditation and prayer and creating a space to heal. For me that looks like no loud noises, being alone with my cat, soft music, candles, journals and books, soft loose clothing, tea, and meditating on forgiveness for my sake.

Oh my goodness, this hit me hard!
I didnât heal from trauma before having and raising my kids bc the trauma happened right before one was born and the other one was a toddler.
They didnât get a one hundred percent loving mother bc of my ptsd, depression and anxiety.
I didnât want to take âmedicineâ bc of all the side effects and wanted to be physically present
Unfortunately, I wasnât always emotionally present for them and Iâm barely starting to get the therapy I need to heal.
Dr Phil is telling the truth.

"Not one time ever did he speak the words, 'I'm proud of you.'" Every Asian kid growing up in a household with tiger parents can relate to that.
"Be who you are on purpose. Live with intention." Being unapologetically authentic is obvious in principle, but in reality, most people place a greater emphasis on how they're perceived by others over their own intrinsic aims. And in terms of intent, I think many people begrudgingly go through the motions in life because their situational circumstances don't allow them to pursue what they're truly passionate about because of economic deprivation or the like.

Healing trauma is like updating your inner softwareâwithout it, you're just a glitchy human stuck in "why-did-I-do-that-again?" mode. He is spot on!
