Ricochet was in my watchlist for YEARS only to be watched today. How impressive were DW & John Lithgow here... There's always something comfy about the 90s cinema. The climax was a little overdramatic but apart from that, they did a splendid job overall. Man, Denzel is so good! Oct 7, 2023

A really brilliant film. It deserved a sequel, as for John Lithgow with that performance. He would've made a brilliant villain in one of the Highlander sequels. Highlander director Russell Malcalhy.

I must've seen this movie at least a dozen times or more in my lifetime. When it first came out, I saw it every Saturday after class for about 6 weeks.....straight! πŸ˜‚

This film was suggested to me by word of mouth/ a good friend years ago, and already liking the two main actors, well I didn't need much convincing. Denzel Washington I've liked for years, even his lesser known ones. In this he didn't disappoint me either. When John Lithgow plays a villainous character, he's usually pretty menacing: his facial features and that voice - and I've seen my share of those characters by him) Come to think of it, vocalizing Lord Farquad in Shrek he was more goofy than scary, I did like his first entrance in that though. He's just as convincing with his good guy roles too. Good remastering of the trailer btw.

Interestingly, this movie features a written reference to 11 September (in one of the news items) and the destruction of a structure called The Twin Towers. So it predicts the 9/11 attacks 10 years before they occurred!

I just found the original DVD release of this in a thrift store and the picture quality blows. It says widescreen on the cover but it is a widescreen image scaled to a 4:3 aspect ratio so there are huge black bars are on all four sides of the picture. It is grainy and dark. As for the film, how can yo miss completely in the 90s with Denzel , Ice T, Victoria Dillard (with her fine ass), Lindsay Wagner (also fine) and even the great John Amos (James Evans from Good Times) making a brief appearance as the preacher. John Lithgow gave his usual over the top psycho bad guy performance - even less believable than his performance in Cliffhanger with Sylvester Stallone.
