My best friend Gary turned me on to Melanie when we were in high school and he would play her music on his guitar all the time. Today Gary and Melanie are drinking some leftover wine together in heaven hitting all the right chords. Melanie - Melanie - so so underrated! Oh my, I just heard this sad news. I saw Miley and Melanie's backyard performance several years ago and was so thrilled with it that I went back and found all the Melanie songs I grew up with and loved so much. I'm truly sorry to hear that Melanie passed. She brought such joy to so many of us. She had a beautiful voice, was an amazing songwriter, and seemed to almost glow with a goodness that I always looked up to as the true hippie chick. Rest in peace Melanie.
