1. Why did you choose a career in in the professional beauty industry?

-I love to create beautiful, colorful, and eye catching art. I have been an artist all my life.
The art world is very difficult, I do not want to travel and leave my 2 boys and husband behind.

I decided to change directions from the fine art world, to the beauty world.

Here I know, once I graduate from the Evergreen Beauty College in November, I will be able to have a stable job.
In my city or even right around the corner from my home.
I wont have to leave my boys to go sell my art.

I'll be able to keep bringing art magic for people to enjoy.
Even better?
They will be able to wear it and feel amazing, showing off something beautiful
that no one can take from them because they will be attached to their nails.


2. What financial hurdles are you experiencing that a scholarship,
by High Performance Salon Academy would support you in completing your goals?

-Elevating perceptions scholarship will help make a big difference
in the monthly payments we will be making to the school.

We are trying to have savings put aside for our type 1 diabetic son, in the case that his health insurance decides to not cover his health needs.
We almost lost him 2 years ago and we are doing everything we can so he can live as a normal boy.

It is difficult for just my husband taking on all our financial needs alone,
that is why this scholarship would make a big difference in the coming months.


3. What can you do to elevate the perception of a career in beauty industry? &
how do you hope to use these skills to be successful once you become licensed?

-I would love to go to high schools to open doors and show students that there are
successful and fulfilling careers in the beauty world for any ethnicity and gender.

I wish I had been shown that this was a career I could have looked for while in high school.

I was only shown digital art & animation, fashion design, cooking, and construction jobs.

There are so many waisted years that I will not get back, but I can help inspire future professionals.

Its not the easiest career because there is still so much to learn, but I want to show them and implant the idea that they can do anything in the beauty world if they have the desire.

I will let them know that we are always learning and refining our skill based on trends every year.

Also just because we are creating something beautiful and making art on nails, it doesn't mean its 100% safe.
It is best to go to beauty school and learn everything to keep themselves and their clients safe.

This way we can help reduce the amount of chemical allergies that have come up.
Even if they do not deicide to go into the beauty world, at least they know there is so much more than just putting on product.
