Nothing like True Detective will ever exist again. It is a work of art, and McConaghey is a savant. Also, as much as I love Rust and Marty, I don't think they should return. The first season is a journey, not only involving the case but also the characters, and at the end of the season, that journey has been completed; there is real resolution. If the pair were to be thrust into a new case, I think it would diminish the weight and importance of the first season.

I had been in a dark place for 7 years with no real reason to exist, True Detective 2014 & Rustin Cohle brought me back into the light. I'd love to see more of Rust.

He's a Christian man who manages to play the most convincing, sceptic, elitist atheist. I agreed so much with the characters viewpoints, I was shocked when I realized he was actually a southern Christian in real life. The character is perhaps one of the best written characters of all time, and Matthew is just icing on the cake. TLDR: Rust and Matthew are polar opposites, yet both are aligned in harmony in the show.

wow this is so freaking good, he mentioned that he himself even questioned things that he as a person believed when playing the character ideas and philosophy, just wow, props to McConaughey and everyone on true detective, one of the best shows ever.
