It's my favourite Vocal Moments time!
This is probably my favourite of Faouzia's, definitely top 3. Her breath control is incredible here and quality of tone. Here's some time stamps of my favourite moments!
0:10 - Three perfectly placed F#3's, very difficult to get such tone and resonance on such a low note. AND this exact melody is repeated multiple times in the song, so impressive.
0:22 - The pre-chorus is so simple, but is made so much more interesting by how Faouzia sings it. The quick runs and vibrato she uses here allows her to seamlessly flow through the melody.
0:36 - "run, run, run, run" surprisingly difficult to achieve such precision when climbing to the 4th "run" on an A4. Faouzia's pitch is flawless.
0:47 - Breath control here is fantastic. Maintaining pitch and tone as well as all in one breath? Incredible.
0:55 - The cry after "you" almost turning the word into "youa" is a beautiful stylistic choice and adds to the haunting style of the song.
0:59 - Gorgeous head voice run here to a high F#5 immediately straight back down TWO octaves to her verse melody beginning on an F#3. Outstanding range and control. This F#5 is also the highest note in the song!
1:15 - The word "Scary" has a faster vibrato than what we've heard so far which almost adds a sound to the feel of the word emphasising the feeling of the word as well as continuing the haunting quality of the song.
1:20 - Octave jump from an F#4 to an F#3 on "glances...", so casual, but so good!
1:22 - Pay attention here at the "glances..." part. Her vibrato changes on almost every word and is controlled so well! Always keeping the listener interested with every lyric.
1:28 - The word "know" has a gorgeous vocal run indicative to Faouzia's unique style.
1:37 - Perfect pitch precision again here with another cry / fall off of the word "torn" after hitting a gorgeous C#5 in head voice.
1:55 - Stunning belt on a C#5, perfect placement and resonance.
2:01 - Slight change of melody going to a D5 instead of back down to a B4 like the previous chorus. Keeping the listener interested still plus displaying a gorgeous belt (as well as being the highest belt in the song).
2:09 - "For mercy on mind" and the section before all display an effortless belting range and agility as well as incredible breath control especially finishing that phrase with a belted C#5 run!
2:39 - YES! The unique Moroccan style runs she does on the word "you" is her signature sound and is a part of pretty much every song Faouzia sings.
2:44 - I love this ending, it's so potent and strong. These glottal notes starting on an F#4 here are so well placed and executed!
And that's the comment! I've been asked to do more of these analyses so if you enjoyed please let me know and I will do even more!
Side note: I frickin love Faouzia, such a talent, such a voice! <3

faouzia is my idol. she doesnāt realize how much she has helped me through life. before i used to try and sing higher like other popular pop artists and i always thought i wasnāt good until i found faouzia. once i started listening to her, i found that iām naturally more comfortable with a richer, deeper tone than the tone i was trying to sing before. i learn runs from her, belts, high notes. i teach myself how to sing through her songs and also i love her sheās just an amazing human being and the literal definition of perfection.
