i like how they went HARD into the cliffhanger, dude. didn't wrap any of the problems up, said "screw you, you're getting another movie." i respect that.

I love how Spots went from a goofy character to one of one the most creepiest villains I've ever seen

I think we can all agree that Hobie is a G. He told Miles how to use his powers properly so he could escape, said good when he was told that he wasn’t helping and then gave Gwen his dimension traveler so she can save Miles

I think there was a conclusion at the end. It was Gwen's arc being completed, her pitch to other spiders and us to save miles. Her going against the spider society and making up with her dad, I think that's a perfect ending to her arc considering we started the movie with her

You know it's an amazing movie when the only complaint is that it ends

The pacing of the film was smoother than butter. It was the fastest 2 hours and 20 minutes in my life because how much I enjoyed it

The ending was crazy but let’s be fair it needed a second movie. I’m glad they took the time to build everything up the way they did and did the pt2.

fun fact about Hobie’s animation: in the first movie, miles is animated in 2’s, which is a new position every 2 frames, and the other spiders are animated in 1’s, or a new position every 1 frame. this was used to represent him being inexperienced. in the second movie, this carries, and is also used to represent who sides with miles and who doesn’t. Hobie’s animation is interesting because he is animated in 3’s, or a new position every 3 frames, while also constantly changing color, which is a representation of his non conformist views. His jacket is usually animated in 3’s but offset a frame or so for added effect, his outline is usually in 2’s or 1’s, depending on his motion, and his guitar is animated in 4’s with its cutout outline changing but usually in 3’s.

I really liked the villain, he was goofy as hell at the begin but also weirdly genuine which didn't make his quirky aspects unbearably. He wants to be taken seriously and as he gets stronger and more calculated we have to take him seriously.

The different art styles for each spider man is insane, for example with Hobie he is constantly changing, he never stays one color because he mentions that he hates consistency, which is such a great detail.

When the first film came out I was still in uni, studying animation in my honours year. We spent the whole 4hr class just gushing about it. When I saw the second film, I nearly cried at how beautiful Gwen's world is. It's a moving painting. I saw people coming up with similar concepts in uni, but artists are so rarely given the opportunity to flex. Time, money constraints. Please support this film as much as you can, show the studios we want to see more of this!

tbh i feel like the whole chase between miguel and miles was climatic enough for the movie. i felt so much tension and excitement watching all the spideys go after miles while having some intense dialogue, it definitely makes up for the cliffhanger that was left at the end imo

I loved how the art style for each dimension remained consistent with the comics. Like how Gwen’s universe follows that airy water colour look from her comics.

I was so happy that Spot was eventually taken seriously in this film. As a character, he admittedly is kind of goofy (his first comic appearance literally had Spider-Man burst out laughing when he fought him), but he can also be potentially terrifying, which the movie adapted wonderfully.

I LOVE how this movie does not rely on action. The narrative and writing is done so well

I was lucky enough to live close to a brand new movie theater in a remote area, so I got to see this movie opening day with not another soul in the theater. Single-handedly one of the best viewing experiences of my life.

Love how in Gwen's world the people's emotions bleed into the art making it so when they're happy it turns into warm colors and when it's a more serious moment it's in colder colors

I loved the scenes where Gwen was talking to her dad. That was art.

I knew this movie would slap from those first moments with Gwen as she's thinking of Miles and walking downtown and he keeps showing up in the background, I love that kind of subtle storytelling and internal look into a character. This movie was a master class work of art.

Dude I didn't even watch any of the previous movies. My little brother recommended I go see it, so I did. My friend described the animation as "24/7 art porn". Absolutely amazing. The contrast between the hyper pop saturation of the multiverse/dimensional glitches and the b&w scheme of Spot are insane. The sound engineering, soundtrack, and pacing are fucking amazing. Will definitely be watching the previous movies and waiting for the release of the next one!
