Wallahi, I know a really nice guy who has an almost identical life story as Charles. He was abused during his childhood by his school teachers. He was stuck in a racist school where his racist English teachers beat him every day and tried to force him to become christian. He also has a lot of health issues since his childhood (IBD, T2DM, depression).
He started university at a very late age because he was a full time carer for his late father. Sadly, his father passed away before he was able to graduate. Suhail is now a full time carer for his mother. He is 51yo but he never got married because women were not willing to have his mother live with him after marriage. He had to choose between marriage and being a full time carer for his mum. He chose his mum. It was a no brainer.
He also never moved away from home, even when he received graduate pharma jobs because it meant having to leave his mum on her own. She was 70yo at the time. He had to turn down good jobs in order to take care of his elderly mother who is now 80yo.
The sad part is that his dishonourable siblings are all married and have their own homes and families, yet they are planning to sell his mother's house after she passes away, effectively making him homeless and they don't care. He does not have the money to buy a house for himself because he never had a job or earned a salary due to being an unpaid carer for his parents.
He is the middle child and they are usually the most loyal and honourable yet they are never appreciated. What hurts him the most is that his dishonourable siblings never stepped up to the table to take care of his parents. He was the one who made all the huge sacrifices and took care of his parents, yet his parents always favoured his siblings over him. Now he is at risk of becoming homeless if he cannot find a well paying career. I feel really sorry for the brother. There is no justice for him in this duniya.

People like him shouldn't feel voiceless but they must be appreciated and supported in a Society.
