I feel like this song describes how how you can lose someone, either a close friendships or relationship, and when they are out of your life you realize and everyone else around you tells you to move on. And you know that the moment you stop throwing a pity party for yourself and try to move on and âfeel betterâ itâs really over, you getting up and accepting what has happened to you is accepting that you arenât going to have the person in your life going forward. So when people tell you to feel better or âitâll get better soonâ you have this irrational sense of anger and resentment, you arenât going to move on and you are going to stay like this, until inevitably one day you do move on and in turn, feel better.

This song really resonates with me. My âfriendâ introduced me to this guy and we had really good chemistry. My âfriendâ (she was his ex) ended up interjecting every time we would hangout and getting all cuddly with him even though she knew the guy and I were into each other. It really broke my heart and I ended up telling the guy I didnât want to do it anymore and wanted to be friends. He still had a crush on me for a year after that, but the situation messed me up and I had too much pride to be the second choice. But I really loved him and he loved me. So basically weâve been in this flip-flop situation where one of us likes the other and the other one has moved on. It really sucks.

One thing I love about Penelope Scott is that her lyrics donât follow a certain rhythm most of the time, and that it feels like a diary entry a lot of the time. The way she is still able to make it still sound well without a set rhythm is so inspiring and makes me wanna do the same. Itâs what makes me love her music, itâs just soâŚcool. And she doesnât follow everybody else with her instrumentals either. Keep up the great work Penelope! â¤â¤â¤
