I was 18 years old when then "Thijs", was mixing in a small local club in my hometown Breda. He played from behind the bar, nothing even close to a dj booth. I was there when he played his first sensation white gig. Followed him during his entire career and always felt a bit proud about of what he did for our Dutch electronic music business. He saw everything and played everywhere. Such a legend. I'm 51 now 😅

Only a TRUE Legend like Tiesto can dig up such classic dance tracks as those he did from the early to mid 90's, play them today, 30+ years later, and STILL have the crowd loving the set!... But it also goes to show just how groundbreaking and powerful some of those first dance music classics really were!
I am 50 this year, so almost the same age as Tiesto, and I've followed the dance music scene VERY closely since I was a teenager, and I have all of those classic albums in my ever expanding music collection, along with most of the newer stuff too, all the way up to some brand new stuff I just bought a couple of weeks ago, so I remember all of the epic awesomeness that has happened over the decades!
I used to be a VERY regular raver, going to at least one pretty much every week, from the late 90's through right before the mass world shutdown a few years ago for that thing we won't mention anymore, but I really need to go to a few of these LARGER music festivals before I get too much older, because I REALLY miss the whole rave and EDM scene!
These video sets from Ultra Miami just take me immediately back to the awesome vibe and energy of it all, and even though I've literally been to hundreds of raves over the years, I feel like I'm still not done yet! LOL! (I need to find a new "rave fam" now tho', because all of the people that I used to know have all "grown up" and have families now, etc.)(I'm the only one of who I used to know that's still hardcore into this music and still loves the whole scene, but it's ever evolving, so it helps keep me young!)

I swear between that drop at 50:26 and the rain coming down hard, I had transcended headbanging. The king never fails to disappoint!

32:00 This shot is impressive, a big storm was coming, but Tiësto decided to send a message to his audience with Adele's song, THE RAIN WAS NOT GOING TO STOP THEM!!! 👏🏽🌧️🎛️💿 Congratulations to Tiësto and the people of ULTRA for the effort and getting great images despite the rain

44:27 Tiësto is the coolest man ever. His energy is so contagious. Even after the equipment malfunction he was glowing and wanting more. 🔥

Since it rained so hard, people couldn’t take out their phones. This was the most energy I’ve experienced from a set. Tiesto is a boss for keeping us hype through it all!
