One of the most terrifying things I remember about the necromorphs was how they can randomly change up their speed at which they approach you. Usually they slowly shamble towards you so you have a false sense of security thinking you have plenty of time to take them out, but then they suddenly break into a full on sprint and rush you

I'm looking at this the same way I looked at the RE1 remake and how much it changed and kept the same. Letting you explore the Ishimura fully, the weapon changes, Isaac fully voiced, new cutscenes, the gravity control from the sequel, but keeping the aesthetic and story intact with a (mostly) brand new cast. AND new enemies and a new secret ending? Legit worth grabbing.

THIS game is so important between myself and my daughter... She insisted on stating up late ( she was 4 )... I thought it would make no "NOPE!!" outta there and go to bed... Nope, she was enthralled, called out enemies, and gripping onto my arm at certain points... It was one the funnest 2 day ever... Now, scary movies and games are just our thing... We love them... You'd never know either, because she's the kindest teen ever... We joke and call them "Parental Failure Nights"... I think I'm nearly at 850 now... 👍
I'd LOVE to get this remake to play with her!!!

Hey Karak, I just want to say I really appreciate how concise your videos are. I have a friend trying to grow a small channel and he often bounces his thoughts off of me. In the process of trying to find what works and doesn't I've ended up looking at the content I enjoy most through a more critical lens. I keep coming back to your channel for an assortment of examples they can pull from for a variety of reasons. Though the thing I feel really rings true with your channel is it feels like you've taken the time to work on a script and distilled it down to the most succinct version of itself. That and your more humble personality really resonates. Anyway, thanks for content man, always love seeing a new video drop.

Dead Space 2008 was the first game I ever preordered. Despite next to no hype surrounding it (that I knew of at the time, at least), it just looked unique, and I had never really PLAYED horror games before. I absolutely loved it.
Motive earned my faith and trust with Squadrons, and it made this remake one of the three games I've preordered in the last five years. I am deeply excited, and very glad to see reviews have been so positive. This is what passion and talent can do.

Watching the first couple of minutes of this: It doesn't look like they fixed the (slightly) annoying movement system - where you cannot move diagonally and, instead, have to awkwardly turn sideways and strafe. :(
For whatever reason: The lack of a diagonal moving option was not a big deal for me back in 2008, when the game released, but quickly became annoying when trying to replay it much later.
Knit-picking aside: The game looks fantastic and I'll TRY to wait for a sale.

I bought this game on sale and absolutely love it. I thought I wouldn’t enjoy a horror game but I was wrong. The vibe is great trying to piece together the events that made this place take a turn is my favorite part. The environment too, the rundown version of a once high tech space ship never gets old.

I distinctly remember playing Dead Space when it first came out. I remember rolling my eyes when EA said they were publishing a Survival Horror game — I half expected it to be terrible, so I decided to rent it from a local Blockbuster.
I played it alone in the dark. It was honestly a terrifying experience… and I had lots of experience with survival horror games at that time.
I’m glad it got a remake for new audiences. And I’m really happy it’s getting similarly positive reviews.

I remember my dad, my little brother and I sitting in a dark living room playing the original with surround sound and crapping ourselves hearing the skittering. My brother and I consider our first playthrough one of our fondest memories.
