Sometimes I wonder what the hell I've become.
When I see the light in your eyes, the smile on your face.
I know I've done something right.
Others they define us by what we wear, what we listen to, or how we think.
You see the truth without a blind fold, without fear.
So I write this for you, just for you.

By the time this is written I don't know what these words will say.
Hell I know I think about you everyday.
Were both a little twisted and most likely insane.
But I'll never take this time in vain.
We both hold a rose.
Not for its beauty, for the blood that flows.
From the prick of the thorn.
Both in love with pain since we were born.
We share our disgrace for heaven above.

But,
This Isn't Love

Most of them run away, afraid of your silence.
Maybe it's the past and all the senseless violence.
I think I know why.
Because neither one of us could tell a lie.
Now why is it I can hear your voice loud and clear?
Maybe the rest never took the time to hear.
I know you will take the time to look inside.
So I have nothing left to hide.
We'll both look at the stars above.
And we know this isn't love.

For every breath we take.
We know our tears have never been fake.
I'd end them all just to see a smile on your face.
All of their laughter is a disgrace.
We'll laugh at them all as we burn in Hell.
With all the bad angels who fell.
Now wipe away all your tears.
I'm here to listen to all your fears.
I'll set them all free like a dove.

After all,
this isn't love.

It's understanding without reprimanding.
Caring and always sharing.
It's feeling to offer healing.
A kiss without venom.
A non toxic chemical serum.
A hug without a knife in the back.
Not some excuse to find something we lack.
Happiness without the pain.
A connection without a lock and chain.
I'm not an angel from above.
So this isn't love.

So this isn't love.

This isn't some work of fiction.
Here you'll find no contradiction.
Just the words that I've said.
As they've passed through my head.
I'll hear you every night.
In the silent darkness without any light.
And as we try to see what our dreams are made of.

We both know,
